Civil War in China

1. Which side did the United States support, and why?

The United States supported the Nationalists because they opposed communism.

2. What did the United States do to affect the outcome of the war?

The United States sent $2 billion worth of military equipment and supplies.

3. What was the outcome of the war?

The aid was not enough to support the Nationalists and the Nationalists fled to Taiwan.

4. How did the American public react to that outcome, and why?

The American public was stunned that China had become Communist
